Ok, when I say TBR, I mean it in the loosest sense possible, because I am rubbish at sticking to them. But I thought it would be fun to show you, Fanciful Friends, the books I have that I want to read soon, and this month is the perfect opportunity to get to them!
The first book, which I just finished yesterday, is Red Water – Shadows of Camelot Crossing by Lisa Courtaway. Hazel and her family have moved into their new home and are trying their best to adjust to quarantine and self isolation. Unfortunately, they also seem to be haunted by a spirit who’s time for completing unfinished business is running out. This was priority number one, as it was an eARC and feedback is due soon. So keep an eye out for my review of that over the coming days!
Next up is Small Favors by Erin A Craig. This was my most anticipated release of 2021, and I am enjoying it so much. It follows Ellerie as she tries to keep her family together and functioning while strange monsters prowl the woods outside the village, cutting them off from the outside world. Once my migraine has calmed down (third day running) I plan on finishing it.
Book number three that I would like to read and complete for MS Readathon is Paperbacks From Hell by Grady Hendrix. I bought a physical copy of this one as it is full of images of covers of horror novels, as well as information about them and thoughts from Grady Hendrix. I recently read Horrorstör by him and I have so far enjoyed my dive into pulp horror history with him.
And the fourth book that I would like to complete, that I am currently about 35% through is One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston. This was kind of a surprise, on a whim decision for me when I picked it up, because I am generally not really into romance as a genre. I don’t mind it as a subplot, but once it is the primary reason for the story to exist, I get a little bored. There is nothing wrong with romance, it just isn’t my thing. But, this story follows a bisexual woman and a lesbian, and has a sci-fi subplot. And I had to use an Audible credit. So before I knew it, I was listening to the amazing narration and was pleased to discover I was not bored. Hell yeah!
Are you participating in MS Readathon? What are you reading this month? Do you have any suggestions or recommendations? You know where to find me!
